UPCOMING NEWS: The IAOTP will be Publishing a new hardbound book entitled "IAOTP'S Top Fearless Leaders: Stories of Resilience, Strength, Perseverance and Passion" which will featuring Writer, Author and Blogger Rosemarie Kaupp.
Rosemarie Kaupp is a children’s writer and author of “The Amberella Tales” a series of children’s books, and blogger for “May Your Laughter Live” a Blog for Bereaved Parents, but this Fearless Leader hasn’t always been a writer. Her previous career and life experiences set her on this current path as she brings some inspiration and hope to her readers following her own tragedy. After graduating from UPenn in 1970, Rosemarie went on to be a Public Health nurse for the city of Philadelphia. She later went on to acquire her Master's Degree from Penn State In 1978 she started as a Certified School Nurse for the School District of Philadelphia. This is where her story really begins. She spent the next 24 years as a school nurse. Rosemarie always played an integral part in children’s lives every day. Yes of course she was there tending to their cuts, scrapes, headaches and, bellyaches, but she wasn’t just there to call parents to pick up their children. She aided with child development and gave children a sense of protection, a safe haven where they would be taken care of, loved, and nurtured. Unfortunately, Rosemarie suffered a tremendous loss. Her son Chris died at the young age of 23 followed by the death of her husband just six weeks later. This was all preceded by her own cancer diagnosis and treatment. Rosemarie’s courage and perseverance teach us that even if you experience tragedy, it is possible to move forward. It’s possible to have a productive life again. Your life will never be the same but it can be a good life. Rosemarie Kaupp could have chosen to let the experience destroy her. Instead, she carried on. With her professional experience and longevity in caring for children, Rosemarie decided to pick up a pen and paper and write. With all of her love and numerous years surrounded by children, she understands what grabs children’s interest, what makes them laugh, and what makes them capable. She began writing to help memorialize Chris’s life and preserve her connection with him. Rosemarie was inspired to write “The Amberella Tales”. The character Chris in her books is based on her son and Amberella is based on her own dog, Amber. Rosemarie recalls loving to read to her son and she remembered how much he enjoyed it too. She said writing gave her a sense of connection to those good memories they shared together. It helped her grieve but also helped her to move forward with a sense of peace at having memorialized Chris’ life in her book. It was January of 2012 that Rosemarie wrote her first Children’s Book “Amberella in the City,” which is part of a three-book series “The Amberella Tales” for children ages 5 to 9. The stories teach children the values of love, security, friends, belonging, and acceptance.
“Every single time you help someone stand up you are helping humanity rise.”
Steve Maraboli
Her second book was published in May of 2013 “Amberella and Double Double Trouble,” and Rosemarie is currently working on a third book, “Amberella and the Troublesome Nine,” which she hopes to publish in the near future. According to Rosemarie, “Children enjoy being able to relate to the challenges they are experiencing in their own lives.” From her experience with children her entire professional life, it was second nature for her to write for them. She has a full grasp of what children like, what they don’t like, what makes them capable, what makes them laugh, and what they are interested in when they read.
In April of 2013, Rosemarie started writing a blog for other parents who have lost their children, kidswritertoyou.blogspot.com. She wanted to inspire parents to navigate their journey of grief to find some measure of peace and productivity once again. Rosemarie gives positive encouragement, inspiration, direction and, empathy to these parents who are going through a very dark time in their lives. Throughout her career, Rosemarie has received awards accolades and has been recognized worldwide. She has been named Top Children’s Author of the Decade and Empowered Woman of the Year by IAOTP and was also featured on the famous Reuters building in Times Square. She also graced the cover of TIP (Top Industry Professionals) magazine for her accomplishments. She has been selected as a VIP member of The National Association of Professional Women; Named “Pinnacle Professional of the Year” with Who’s Who. She is an active member of the One Woman One Voice Project and Walk With Women writing group. Rosemarie's journey is certainly inspirational and admirable. Even though she suffers through her own grief, her ability to bring laughter and encouragement to children and bereaved parents through her books and blogs is truly a gift. Rosemarie states, "It is my own goal to give children, parents, and animal lovers an enjoyable time reading and a cast of memorable characters who become lifelong friends. Childhood should be a happy time. Parents and children need special memories to look back on together. I hope my books can create part of that” She truly is a Fearless Leader.
